Bookmakers issue verdict on three Leeds United-linked stars' January transfer window fates

With the January transfer window in full swing, Leeds United are preparing to make further moves to bolster Jesse Marsch's squad and avoid the drop back down to the Championship.

Having already signed centre-back Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg, and with Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter being strongly linked as their second signing of the window, there are many targets that Marsch and company could look to go after.

Fans have been calling for defensive appointments as the back-four is a clear place that needs revamping - although Wober's introduction and dynamic positional play could provide the Whites with the flexibility he needs to look at other areas of the squad to improve.

Here are three players that Leeds United are tipped to be in the running for (according to Sky Bet, odds are correct at the time of writing)…

Azzedine Ounahi - CM, Angers SCO

After his impressive showing at the World Cup that got managers like Jose Mourinho praising his abilities, Azzedine Ounahi has been the talk of the transfer window.

With the news that Paris Saint-Germain might be looking elsewhere in January, it means the Whites are one step closer to landing the 22-year-old's services.

In his 47 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, he's managed two goals and two assists, the same number of goals he's scored for the Moroccan national team in just 17 matches.

Marsch's side are currently fourth-favourites to land Ounahi this month at a price of 12/1, only behind PSG at 2/1, Napoli at 3/1 and Leicester at 6/1.

Ben Brereton Diaz - ST, Blackburn Rovers

The Chilean forward has once again hit double digits for Blackburn this season, with 10 goals and four assists in the 30 times he's played in all competitions.

But Ben Brereton Diaz could be on the cards for a move away from Ewood Park and swapping it for Elland Road with the Whites in the market for a striker after Patrick Bamford's constant injury problems.

Despite being on a goalless streak of six matches, Diaz is a proven goalscorer who's priced at 25/1 to join the Whites in January, with Premier League rivals Everton favourites at 6/1, Southampton at 12/1 and Nottingham Forest at 20/1.

Christian Pulisic - LW, Chelsea FC

Despite being offered a clean slate by new boss Graham Potter, Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has failed to impress many Blues fans this season but could be a perfect player in Jesse Marsch's system.

While he is rather injury prone himself (with his current issue likely to put the breaks on a January move), his dribbling ability and raw pace can't be questioned, meaning he can be a creative force with a goalscoring target like Rodrigo to pass to.

Premier League rivals Newcastle United are the current favourites at 10/3, while other European giants like Manchester United are at 12/1 while Borussia Dortmund and Juventus join the Whites at a price of 18/1.
