If fashion's your thing, it's worth checking out high street copycats that can save you a fortune compared to the original designer pieces.
It only seems like yesterday, but apperently the 2000s are back with a vengance and one top that's head and shoulders above the rest in the popularity stakes is the butterfly top, made famous when worn by Maria Carey in 2000.
The trending crop has now become the perfect festival top with the likes of Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and the Coachella queen herself, Vanessa Hudgens wearing the style, and online fashion retailer Nasty Gal has an affordable solution, with a near-identical dupe to the now sold-out AREA butterfly top.

Interest in the butterfly top with a sequin embroidered pattern is only growing further with the hashtag #butterflytop raking in over 22 million views on TikTok. The designer version, fashioned by New York's AREA, retails at a whopping £1,686. But Boohoo’s take on the sequined crop top is just just £59 - it’s even currently on sale with 25% off at £47.20..
Boohoo describes the top as being ideal for festivals, parties and holidays, and says it can be paired with denim shorts, beaded jewelry, and combat boots.. Although it’s more than £1.6k cheaper than the AREA original, it could easily be mistaken for the real deal.
The retailer isn’t the only shop offering customers on a budget fashion buys that bear a striking resemblance to pricier versions. Home Bargains shoppers recently discovered a shoulder bag up for grabs at just £9 that looked very similar to a bag on sale in Zara.
The green quilted shoulder bag found in Home Bargains sported a gold chain, drawing comparisons to a Zara lookalike. But the Zara bag had a price tag of £26, almost three times as much as the Home Bargains version.
