Bonfire Night weather in London: Met Office confirms forecast for Fireworks Night

The Met Office is promising “dry and mild” weather for Bonfire Night, meaning celebrations in the capital should go ahead without a hitch.

While the skies might be grey and overcast during the day, the Met Office expects that London will remain dry into the evening.

By the afternoon, the clouds may thin and break to give “limited bright or sunny intervals”, which will hopefully bode well for some clearer skies during firework displays.

The temperatures are also expected to stay mild, with highs of 12°C, lows of 8°C and light winds.

Again, that’s a recipe for some enjoyable Bonfire Night celebrations, with no freezing temperatures or wind blowing smoking into spectators.

There is a risk of mist and light fog in some areas later into the night, but that can often add to the allure of firework displays.

Looking ahead to later in the week, Wednesday is expected to see more fog. It will remain cloudy throughout most of the day in London, although some limited bright or sunny intervals are expected in the afternoon.

The rest of the week is expected to remain dry but overcast, with the potential for patchy drizzle on hills.

Throughout the week, overnight clear spells may allow fog patches to form, which may be slow to clear in the mornings. However, clear skies mean you should get good views of any Bonfire Night events taking place later in the week or at the weekend.

On the whole, London can expect dry weather with light winds this week, with the temperatures remaining mild.
