Manchester United were dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 phase with a 1-0 loss at Old Trafford to Atletico Madrid.
Renan Lodi's first half header proved to be decisive in the tie as the Spanish side went through to the quarter-final phase with a 2-1 victory on aggregate.
United's season now only consists of trying to obtain a top four spot, whch will secure qualification to next season's Champions League.

Atleti have proved to be a tough opponent for English teams to come up against in Europe over the years, particularly when it get to the knock-out stages of competitions.
United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Fulham and Aston Villa are all sides to have been defeated at the hands of Atleti since 1991 in knockout competitions in Europe.
Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers are the only two English sides to have knocked the Madrid side out of European competitions in the past three decades at knockout stages.
Wanderers memorably managed that in the Uefa Cup in 2008. Sergio Aguero was also sent off 14 minutes after coming off the bench at the Reebok as El Hadji Diouf netted what proved to be the goal which sent the Trotters through to the last 16 of the competition that year.
Wanderers followed up the 1-0 victory with a goalless draw at the Vicente Calderon to make it into the next round of the competition.
Thomas Tuchel's side also managed the feat last season on their path to becoming European Champions, defeating Diego Simeone's side 3-0 on aggregate.
Olivier Giroud's goal ensured a 1-0 triumph in the first leg of the tie, before goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson at Stamford Bridge sealed passage to the quarter-final stage.
