Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Tranmere Rovers - Josh Sheehan, Kieran Sadlier & Conor Carty good

Joel Dixon - 5

Could have been positioned much better for opening goal which gave Tranmere the lead. Arguably could have done better for second goal on stroke of half-time.

Will Aimson - 7

Slotted on the right of the back three. Distribution out from the back decent at times and good interceptions at times.

Eoin Toal - 6.5

Played in the middle of the back three in his second appearance in a Wanderers shirt. Some good interceptions and distribution out from the back at times, but clearly still getting a bit up to speed with how Bolton play.

George Johnston - 7

Caught out for second goal as Paul Lewis was free to tuck home. But otherwise looked solid in captaincy role for the night with passing out from the back and interceptions.

Declan John - 6

Recovered from hamstring problem which kept him out of the weekend win over Peterborough United. Started on the right flank but it did not suit him. A bit better on the left.

Josh Sheehan - 7

Saw early free-kick saved as midfielder made only his second appearance following recovery from a ruptured ACL. Looked good in possession with some nice touches at times.

Aaron Morley- 6.5

Back in central midfield and som nice ideas in possession. In first half though, was not in the game much out of possession as Tranmere's midfield was on top.

Owen Beck - 6.5

Liverpool loanee handed debut after joining before the end of the transfer window. Early impact winning free-kick with pace and trickery. Flashes of what he can offer going forward.

Kieran Sadlier - 7

Started in the number 10 role and did not have much impact in that role in the first half. Different after the break and got Bolton back into game with classy finish.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson - 7

Iceland international started game to get more minutes under belt after recent injury. More involved in second half with header which landed wide and shot cleared off line.

Dapo Afolayan - 6.5

Shot towards the end of the first half parried to safety by opposition goalkeeper Mateusz Hewalt. Caused more problems after the break.

Substitutes:

Lloyd Isgrove - 6.5

Made comeback from injury after an hour and went to right wing-back. Promising return and has lost none of his speed on the wing. Spot kick saved in penalty shootout.

Conor Carty - 7

Former Wolves youngster handed first team bow as full-time approached. Fantastic effort from outside the box to put Wanderers back on level terms.
