Bolton Wanderers' fresh League One fortunes as Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday predictions made

Bolton Wanderers are currently on a five match unbeaten run which has seen them pick up 13 points from an available 15 on offer.

Wins over Ipswich Town, Shrewsbury Town, Sunderland and Cambridge United were followed by coming from behind with 10 men to claim a point versus Morecambe over the weekend.

Amadou Bakayoko's late strike cancelled out Cole Stockton's effort, with the Morecambe striker having his earlier penalty saved by James Trafford.

That penalty was awarded after an alleged handball by Bolton captain Ricardo Almeida Santos, who was shown a straight red card.

Wanderers are now back in the top half of the table and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run against Charlton Athletic tomorrow evening.

Throughout the campaign, football statistics website FiveThirtyEight is forecasting how the League One table might finish after the results of every matchday, with the season reaching the climax of the regular season at the end of April before the play-offs.

And the recent run of results for Bolton mean they are now currently tipped to end the season in tenth place, inbetween Ipswich and tomorrow's opponents Charlton, and represents a rise from 13th which was predicted a few weeks ago.

At the top of the table, Rotherham are predicted to finish ahead of Wigan Athletic and secure automatic promotion to the Championship.

And the play-off places are still tipped to be filled by MK Dons, Oxford United, Wycombe Wanderers and Sunderland, with Sheffield Wednesday missing out in seventh.

At the foot of the division, Morecambe, Crewe Alexandra, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers remain the four sides tipped to be playing in League Two next season.
