Liverpool’s hit Bold Street Coffee is to open a second site in Manchester, on University Green off Oxford Road. It follows its first successful foray into Manchester, with its location in Bow Chambers on Cross Street.
The new branch is set to open its doors in time for the new intake of students in September. As well as a large inside space which can seat 80, there will also be a terrace area at the front.
Matt Farrell, director of Bold Street Coffee, said: “We’re delighted to announce our next project in Manchester. The transformation to the Oxford Road corridor in the last few years has been dramatic and the ever expanding, vibrant University makes this a diverse and exciting place to set up the next BSC after its opening success on Cross Street.

“After such a difficult few years, there is an air of expectation around and I think this marks the start of an exciting time for the city, speciality coffee and northern hospitality.”
As with its other branches, it will be serving its breakfast brioche ‘buoys’, as well as its full breakfasts, brunches and specialist, sustainably sourced coffee.
Bold Street Coffee opened its first shop in Liverpool in 2010, and quickly became a staple in the city. It then opened the Manchester Cross Street branch in December 2021, and a second location in Liverpool, at The Plaza, just last month.
It’s just the latest export from Liverpool heading to Manchester, following news that the Madre taco restaurant is set to open a branch at the new Kampus development, opposite Canal Street.
Popular middle eastern spot Maray, which opened its first restaurant on Liverpool’s Bold Street, will also be opening up in town too, just off Albert Square.
