Bohemians could ground-share with St Pat’s at Richmond Park if long-standing plans to temporarily move into Tolka Park come unstuck.
Mirror Sport understands that officials at the Gypsies and Saints have tentatively discussed the possibility of a Dublin 8 venture, but nothing has been set in stone.
Bohs will continue to assess all of their relocation options ahead of the Dalymount Park redevelopment. And, for now, they still include moving in with Shels as planned.
But Shels signalling their intent to buy Tolka Park from Dublin City Council could be a game changer in that regard.
Other issues, like how the playing surface at Tolka Park would hold up with Shels and Bohs’ men and womens teams all playing on it, are also factors to consider.
Shels chiefs were set a deadline of today to provide further detail to DCC on their ambitious proposal to purchase the Drumcondra ground.
The club will have to shell out in the region of €4m for the site before renovation costs are even factored in.
But sources are confident that the redevelopment of Dalymount - estimated at €35m - will go ahead regardless of whether Shels purchase Tolka Park or not.
And that was also the view of Bohs chief operating officer Daniel Lambert a fortnight ago, when he said a brand-new Dalymount Park could open for the 2026 season.
Bohs were due to play at Tolka Park in 2024 and 2025 while that renovation was taking place before it was then demolished for housing.
Shels would in turn move into the new Dalymount Park alongside the Gypsies, but a large cohort of their fans have always railed against the Phibsborough switch.
This month, the Reds announced a significant funding boost from new Irish and American investors which will fuel the running of the club for the next two years.
And that seven-figure bump will aid their push to purchase Tolka Park with Bohs now casting the net wider and eyeing Inchicore as a Plan B for a temporary home.
