BofA hires Goldman's Srijith Nair to lead Asia ex-China financial institutions banking

Hong Kong: Bank of America has hired Goldman Sachs banker Srijith Nair as head of Asia excluding China financial institutions group investment banking and Asia-Pacific insurance investment banking, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Thursday.

* Nair will be based in Singapore and report to Michael Evans, Bank of America's head of Asia-Pacific financial institutions group investment banking, the memo said.

* He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently the head of financial institutions group for Southeast Asia.

* Nair has nearly 20 years of investment banking experience advising banks, insurers, asset managers and leasing companies across Asia, the memo said.

* He previously held senior investment banking roles at Barclays, Daiwa and Citigroup.

* The financial institutions group, or FIG, covers companies such as banks, insurers and asset managers.

* "This appointment will further strengthen our Top 3 FIG franchise in Asia Pacific, while enhancing connectivity and collaboration across our global platform," Evans said in the memo.

* BofA declined to comment.
