A 69-year-old man whose body was recovered from the Union Canal on Tuesday February 21, had been cycling when he fell in.
Police confirmed the cyclist had fallen into the water at Linlithgow and tragically died. His next of kin have now been informed.

Officers raced to the section of water near Strawberry Bank in Linlithgow at around 9.30am yesterday and parts of Strawberry Bank and the nearby Manse Road were cordoned off while enquiries were carried out.
Following an investigation into the full circumstances around the death, it is being treated as not suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30am on Tuesday, 21 February, 2023, police were called to the Strawberry Bank area of Linlithgow following the discovery of a body of a 69-year-old man within the water."

They added: “The death is not being treated as suspicious. Next of kin have been informed and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
