Gardai have launched an investigation today after the discovery of a woman's body at a hotel in Limerick city in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency medical personnel, as well as members of An Garda Siochana, attended the scene at the Limerick Strand Hotel, located on the Ennis Road, shortly after 3am on Tuesday morning.
They discovered the body of a woman, aged in her mid-40s, and it remains at the scene this afternoon as a technical examination takes place.

A post-mortem will be conducted and the results will inform the course of the Garda investigation.
A Garda spokesperson told The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the death of a woman (mid 40s) at a hotel in Limerick in the early hours of this morning Tuesday 2nd May, 2023.
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene after 3am and investigations are ongoing.
"The body remains at the scene, and a post mortem will take place in due course which will determine the course of the investigation."
