An inquest has been opened into the death of a West Bridgford man whose body was found in the River Trent. Jerral Spencer died on October 30 last year.
The 28-year-old's body was found on the south bank of the River Trent in West Bridgford. Opening an inquest into Mr Spencer's death at Nottingham Council House on Thursday, July 14, assistant coroner Fiona Gingell said forensics had identified it was him by his DNA.
"A post mortem has been carried out and the findings before me gives me reasonable suspicion that this death had an unnatural element to it. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere condolences to Mr Spencer's family and friends in relation to their very sad loss."
The inquest hearing has been adjourned at a date to be fixed.
