A body of a man was found in the River Usk in Newport on Sunday, June 25. Police have confirmed that the man has been formally identified as 19-year-old Tom Moreton.
There was concern for his welfare after he was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Vibez nightclub in Newport city centre.
A statement from Gwent Police said: "The body of a man was found in the River Usk in Newport on Sunday 25 June at around 6.15pm . Formal identification has taken place and the man was identified as Tom Moreton, 19, of Cwmbran who was reported as missing to us on Sunday 25 June."
Police had previously appealed for information to find the teenager, describing him as around 5’ 10” tall, of slim build and he was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and grey Nike trainers with a green tick.
Officers said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
