A body has tragically been found in the search for a man reported missing by his worried family in Ayrshire. Relatives of Colin McKerrell raised the alarm at around 10am on Monday, September 19, after the 58-year-old disappeared in Irvine.
Concerns were raised for his welfare due to undisclosed ‘circumstances’ with officers believing he had left in his red Mercedes motor. But just hours after appealing for help from members of the public to find Colin, police have issued a heartbreaking update in the missing person case.
His body was discovered near Mochrum Hill, Maybole, around 10.10am on Tuesday, 20 September.
Mr McKerrell's death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as is the case with all sudden deaths in Scotland. His next of kin have been informed.
