The body of a man has been found in just hours after he vanished in a Scots town. The 70-year-old man was reported missing from the Larbert area of Falkirk at around 1.35am on Sunday, August 21.
Tragically, his body was discovered near the Rae Street area of Stenhousemuir at around 6am, following a police search. Witnesses reported seeing a helicopter circling the area along with several police vehicles and sniffer dogs at the scene.
They added that the entrance to Stenhousemuir Primary School was taped off and an ambulance was also present at the location.
Police officers confirmed that there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the exact nature of the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.35am on Sunday, 21 August, 2022, police received a report of a missing 70-year-old man in the Larbert area.
"Searches were carried out, with the assistance of specialist resources, and at around 6am, the body of a man was found near the Rae Street area of Stenhousemuir.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this time.”
