A man's body has been found on the beach in Blackpool.
Police and paramedics were called to reports of a body being discovered off the promenade, near Blackpool Tower, shortly before 6.30am today (May 25). A large cordon was put in place between North Pier and Central Pier.
Pictures from the scene showed at least two police vehicles and an ambulance on the Comedy Carpet while the adjacent beach was also taped off, Lancashire Live reports. The cordon has since been taken down.

Lancashire Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed but the man's name and age are yet to be released to the public.
It is not believed that are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, the force said.
Lancashire Police said in a statement: "We were called at 6.27am today to a report that a body had been found on Blackpool beach, near to Blackpool Tower. Emergency services attended and very sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this distressing time. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course."
