Body language expert on Phillip Schofield 'struggles' as This Morning replacement announced

Phillip Schofield was out on a seaside stroll this weekend, after which a body language expert claimed the ex-This Morning presenter looks "stressed and struggling."

The 61-year-old shocked fans with news of his immediate departure from This Morning on Saturday, with Holly Willoughby due an 'early half-term break' from this week as a result of some changes, The Mirror revealed.

Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, who traditionally take the morning chat show on Fridays, have been revealed as temporary replacements for this week.

Phillip was seen stony-faced as he enjoyed a stroll with his 85-year-old mum Pat, near the seaside in Cornwall.

Inbaal Honigman, who is a celebrity psychic and body language expert, believes that the images here reveal that Schofield is 'feeling stressed' after his departure last week.

ITV bosses broke the news to the Dancing on Ice star just hours before his very final show with Holly Willoughby on Thursday.

"Phil's most recent photos show that he is struggling," Inbaal outlined.

"In one picture, out walking with his lovely mother, he's flashing a smile, but his hands are doing the talking. One hand is tucked entirely in his jean pocket, which makes him seem stressed. The whole hand is missing from view, unlike his usual laid-back pocket tuck we see on TV, in which his thumbs used to stick out.

"There's nothing laid back about his hand dug forcefully into his pocket, with the skin around his wrist gathered uncomfortably around the pocket edge, showing us that it was not easy for him to get it in there," the psychic said.

She detailed that "his knuckles are white with tension" and "his fingers are bent at an odd shape" in the image where he is seen clutching his mother's walking frame.

"The stress he is feeling is causing his movements to be executed in a more forceful way than would be expected," Inball said.

She also said he looked "tense" in one image where he is biting his lips and his eyebrows are lowered, signifying worry.

Speaking on his own departure on Saturday, Phillip said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently This Morning itself has become the story.

"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on and I want to do what I can to protect the show I love. So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope the show can move forward to a bright future.

"I’d like to thank everyone who supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
