The discovery was made in the High Glencairn Street area of Kilmarnock at 11am today. Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of missing Ryan Cree have been informed.

The 33-year-old had been reported missing almost one week ago after he was last seen on Methven Avenue in the Shortlees area of the Ayrshire town in a Rangers top. Police say there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 11am on Friday, November 4, the body of a man was found in the High Glencairn Street area of Kilmarnock. Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Ryan Cree, reported missing from the local area, has been informed.

"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."
