Body found in search for missing hillwalker

A BODY has been found in the search for missing hillwalker Keith Gauld.

Police said the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area of Drum Castle near Banchory, Aberdeenshire.

Formal identification has yet to take place but officers said Mr Gauld’s family have been informed.

The 49-year-old was reported missing from Peterculter on Thursday, and police discovered his van in the car park of Drum Castle on Saturday.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
