Police have today confirmed that a body has been found in the search for a missing Ayrshire man.
Mark Goldie was reported missing on Tuesday from his home in West Kilbride.
However, police have confirmed that a body was discovered within Carrick Forest near Loch Doon around 3.55pm yesterday.
Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the 51-year-old have been informed of the tragic find.
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
An initial appeal launched by police said Mark was a keen camper and had access to a silver VW campervan VRM.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man has been found within Carrick Forest near Loch Doon around 3.55pm on Wednesday, November 9.
"Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of 51-year-old Mark Goldie reported missing from West Kilbride, has been made aware.
"The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
