The body of a 58-year-old man has been found in the middle of a public square in Johnstone.
Emergency services were called to Houston Square shortly before 3am today (Saturday, May 13), where they confirmed the discovery.
The area has been cordoned off to the public with a number of police officers in attendance. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Images shared with the Daily Record show crime officers wearing white full-body overalls and unpacking equipment at the scene while uniformed officers stand guard at a police cordon.
A white tent has been erected behind the tape.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55am on Saturday, 13th May, 2023, police received a report of a 58-year-old man’s body being found in Houston Square, Johnston.
"Officers are in attendance and the death is being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing."
