Body found in water on vacant property, police piece together timeline

Police are investigating how long a man had been dead before his body was found in water on a vacant property in the outer suburbs of Newcastle.

Detectives have released CCTV from a hotel in Singleton from July 31 showing Shane Ryan, 55, with a goatee beard and wearing a distinctive Holden jacket, as part of a public appeal for information.
