Police have found a body in the search for a missing Ayrshire man.
George Winters vanished from Dalry last Sunday night after buying a takeaway.
Officials have confirmed that a body was discovered from the shoreline near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute yesterday at around 12 noon.
The body has yet to be formally identified but the family of George Winters has been informed of the development.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man has been recovered from the shoreline near Helensburgh.
"He is still to be formally identified but the family of George Winters who was reported missing from the Dalry area in Ayrshire on Sunday, 2 July has been informed.
"The body was found shortly before 12pm on Saturday, 8 July.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
