A few years ago, I rode a handful of BMW motorcycles back to back, after having not ridden any previously. I can't remember the order I did this in, but I do recall that I rode a G 310 R, an F 750 GS, and an R nineT Pure at some point over the course of that day.
All of them were nice enough, but the G 310 R was truly the one I went back to in my mind, thinking about how fun it would be to put a top box on it and use it as an everyday commuter. You might feel differently if you're a much bigger or taller person than I am, and I get that; but for me, I could see it working out pretty well. An all-rounder? Not quite; I probably wouldn't want to spend much time on our local expressways with it, and although I regularly do fun weekend rides with bikes twice or more the displacement of what I'm riding, that tiny engine might be pushing things just a little too far.
