BMW Lets You Outfit X5 And iX5 With M Parts From Day One

  • M Performance Parts for the new X5 and iX5 are available right from launch.
  • Buyers get carbon aero pieces, 23-inch wheels and larger Aero roof boxes.
  • The same catalog now covers gas, diesel, plug-in hybrid and all-electric X5 models.

BMW has confirmed a full slate of M Performance Parts and factory accessories for the fifth-generation X5, available straight from launch. The lineup covers carbon-fiber aero pieces, wheels up to 23 inches and roof boxes with more room than before for both X5 and iX5 buyers.

Buyers can now dress up either the gas, diesel, plug-in hybrid or all-electric iX5 with a shared catalog. Personalization no longer depends on which engine or electric motor sits under the hood.

What BMW Is Adding From Launch

The M Performance catalog lines up around function. A carbon-fiber front splitter pairs aerodynamic gains with minimal added weight. Front trims, a roof spoiler and a rear diffuser round out the exterior kit built for this X5 G65 generation.

Exterior mirror caps and that rear diffuser both use aramid fiber composite, the same material found in some racing gear. BMW chose it here for stiffness without the weight penalty of steel or plain plastic trim.

Wheel options run from 21 to 23 inches across summer and winter setups, including a new 23-inch aluminum alloy design. That is a wide spread for one model, letting X5 and iX5 buyers pick the styling that suits either daily driving or a more planted stance.

Cargo And Cabin Upgrades

Beyond the M Performance Parts, BMW's Aero roof boxes come in 350-liter, 450-liter and 550-liter sizes, each shaped for reduced drag. Every size adds 30 liters over the outgoing boxes, a gain for families or crews hauling gear on longer trips.

That extra volume answers a practical question for X5 buyers. Roof cargo now grows without increasing aerodynamic drag by re-engineering the box design instead of simply making the old ones bigger.

Inside, the Travel & Comfort System brings tablet holders and smartphone adapters to the X5 cabin. It targets families and fleet operators who need devices secured on the move rather than sliding around the seats.

Motor1's Take: Having the same accessories across the range makes it easier to pick an X5 or iX5. Buyers can think about how they use the SUV and what they like to see, instead of worrying about parts compatibility. The idea works only if pricing, dealer installation and availability line up. If there are long waits or big cost gaps, buyers could still lean toward the simplest setup.
