BMTC bus rams into elephant

A BMTC bus hit an elephant that was crossing Kanakapura Road. The incident occurred on Friday at around 10 p.m. near the Roerich and Devika Rani estate.

On impact, the windshield of the bus, which was heading to Kaggalahalli from K.R. Market, was shattered. According to the police, the elephant fell down, but after a while got up and walked towards Roerich estate.

While the few passengers on board were unharmed, the driver sustained some minor injuries. The Roerich and Devika Estate Estate is part of an elephant corridor but rapid urbanisation along Kanakapura Road poses a threat to elephant movement.
