Defender Jordan Boyd is set to miss Carlton's clash with GWS after receiving a one-match suspension for a high bump on Richmond's Rhyan Mansell.
Richmond forward Mansell had just gathered the ball close to the boundary line in the fourth quarter of Carlton's thumping 61-point win over the Tigers on Sunday when he was collected by an onrushing Boyd.
Mansell ducked his head as he moved towards Boyd and the defender's stomach caught him front-on.
The Tiger was given a free kick for high contact and managed to play out the game.
Match review officer Michael Christian charged Boyd with rough conduct and assessed the incident as careless conduct, high contact and medium impact, which draws a one-game ban.
Classy defender Boyd has played all 15 games this season and is a crucial part of the high-flying Blues' backline.
Unless he successfully challenges at the tribunal, Boyd will miss Saturday's away game against GWS, who are chasing a finals berth, at Engie Stadium.
The Blues have until 11am Tuesday to decide whether to accept the suspension.
Boyd's Carlton teammate Nic Newman can accept a $1250 fine for wrestling, as can Tigers star Liam Baker.
