Blue's Lee Ryan arrested on Glasgow flight after 'going crazy when refused booze by crew'

Lee Ryan was arrested after reportedly 'going crazy' during a flight from Glasgow when cabin crew refused to serve him alcohol.

The Blue singer allegedly 'turned the air blue' according to passengers on the British Airways plane travelling to London City Airport from Glasgow on Sunday afternoon. Lee is said to have mouthed off at the cabin staff after being denied booze and refused to sit back down in his seat.

The incident reportedly disrupted the flight by 20 minutes, writes The Mirror. A Met Police spokesman told Mirror Online: "At around 1640hrs on Sunday, 31 July, officers met a flight that had arrived at London City Airport from Glasgow.

"A 39-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence. He was taken into custody at an east London police station and was released under investigation the following day." Lee's representatives declined to comment when contacted.

One passenger told The Sun: "Never mind singing with Blue, he turned the air blue with his language. "He became aggressive with the air hostesses once it became clear he wouldn’t get given alcohol.

"At one point he left his seat and started walking up and down the aisle despite being told to sit down — he even ran behind the cabin crew curtains." They added: "It was crazy behaviour."

Cabin crew radioed ahead and cops boarded the flight in London on Sunday. They arrested Ryan on suspicion of public order offences. Lee formed Blue in 2000 with Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe. They have sold 14million records.

He is married to X Factor star Verity Paris and the couple, who have been together for two years, welcomed a daughter together last year. They said "I do" at a low-key ceremony attended by close friends and family.

He told The Sun at the time: "I met someone finally who loves and supports me in everything I do. "Verity is a beautiful, strong and loving woman who I treasure, and I’m a lucky man to have such a wonderful mother for my child, and now wife in her.

"I’ve never been more calm and grounded and I have Verity to thank for that. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life because of the wonderful family life I now have." While father-of-three Lee found fame in boyband Blue and has appeared on numerous reality TV shows, Verity was a contestant on X Factor in 2009. She later launched a career for herself as an Ariana Grande lookalike and impersonator.
