Historically, in heterosexual relationships, women have been the main gift receivers when Valentine’s Day rolls around each February. Their partners often opt for a heart-shaped box of chocolates, or a bouquet of flowers to profess their love.
In fact, a recent survey of 2,000 Brits found that just 27 per cent of UK men expect a Valentine’s Day gift, despite 39 per cent stating that they would like to receive one.
