Photographs taken earlier showed uniformed police and more senior officers at the scene. Blood was visible on the pavement and the restaurant appeared to have been closed.
A local shop worker said: "A customer came in and said there had been a fight between two workers at the restaurant next door. It all happened at around 11am. There were a lot of police and an ambulance."
Two men who said they worked at the restaurant declined to discuss the incident. Police were still at the scene this afternoon as Bold Street was packed with shoppers.
The ECHO approached Baron 84, and police, for comment.
