Blind Leeds mum 'devastated' after 'life-changing' support device that gave her back independence is stolen

A blind Leeds mum has been left devastated and lonely after the device that helps her go out independently was stolen.

Sandra Lawrence, 58, lost her eyesight within weeks in 2017 after being diagnosed with Doyne Honeycomb Retinal Dystrophy - a rare, early onset condition. It changed her life completely.

Her family, who all live in Seacroft together, saved up to buy her a special device to help her regain some of her independence - but now it's been stolen.
