“The sentence is nowhere near long enough.”
That was the stinging criticism of the justice system by a vigilante group after a blind paedophile was jailed.
Guy Kibblewhite viewed hundreds of child sex abuse images on his phone - some of which featured babies.
The twisted beast overcame his disability by using a voice activation device to help him decipher the contents of vile photos and videos.
The married pervert also confessed that he got help from fellow paedophiles to view the material via apps like Wickr and Skype.
The 58-year-old was this week jailed for two years and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
But “for the content he had,” the sentence wasn’t enough - that’s according to ‘Davy’ from the Scottish Justice paedophile hunters’ team.
The group helped force Kibblewhite - who has an outstanding criminal matter and cannot be identified in pictures - out of his home after details of his offending came to light via Lanarkshire Live in August.
That led to police escorting the beast away after protestors demonstrated outside the house.
Davy told Lanarkshire Live this week: “In many ways, it’s a great result.
“I’m glad the system never fell for him playing the blind card - he’s not as blind as he says he is.
“The sentence means children are safe for at least two years. But for what he had on his devices, the sentence is nowhere near long enough.”
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard how Kibblewhite was caught when a delivery driver spotted a picture of a naked boy on his phone.
He admitted possession of indecent images at his home in Louisbraillie Crescent, East Kilbride, over a 10-year period up to June 28 last year.
Court was told that Kibblewhite has been registered blind since 2006.
Sheriff John Speir said it seemed “incongruous” that he should be facing such a charge given his condition.
Neil Thomson, prosecuting, said that on June 28 last year a driver delivering parcels passed Kibblewhite’s home.
He saw through the living room window that the accused was scrolling on his phone.
Mr Thomson stated: “The worker could clearly make out an image of a boy aged six to seven years on the accused’s phone screen.
“The child appeared to be completely naked. The man was concerned by what he’d seen and contacted the police.”
Kibblewhite’s phone was seized and found to contain 689 indecent photos of children, 184 of which were in the most depraved category.
There were also 67 videos featuring child sex abuse, 53 of which were in the most serious category.
The fiscal said babies thought to be newborn or only a few months old featured in some of the sexually explicit images.
He added: “Analysis of the phone showed it had a device that allowed the user to access illicit websites that would not be accessible to someone using a standard internet browser.
“It provided access to sites often described as being part of the dark web.”
Defence lawyer Andy Thomson described Kibblewhite, who had to be helped into the dock, as “a genuine first offender”.
He was born with a congenital eye condition and according to medical records his vision has been “fully impaired” since 2018.
Mr Thomson stated: “He tells me he can see some form of movement, no more than that.
“Sometimes there is a voice activation device on the phone that provides a narrative of what the moving images show.
“The images are vile. It’s at the higher end of the scale in terms of content.
“The court would be totally entitled to impose custody and he’s very upset at the prospect of that.
“But he has problems and the social work report says these could be tackled by a community payback order.”
Sheriff Speir told him: “It’s a matter of concern that you took steps to overcome your sight difficulty by getting others to narrate what was depicted.
“This you did for your own sexual gratification.
“It is of considerable concern that you appear to have no insight into the impact child sexual abuse could have on your victims.
“I take the view that the only appropriate sentence is custody.”
Kibblewhite wept as he was led from the dock to the cells.
