A 43-year-old man went to an emergency department in Indonesia with blood spotting from the tip of his penis after sexual intercourse. He had none of the warning signs doctors usually look for after a sex-related penile injury: no swelling, no bruising, no snapping sensation, and no trouble urinating.
Yet when doctors passed a flexible camera into his urethra, they found a linear tear measuring about 2 centimeters in its inner lining. The case, published online Aug. 3, 2026, in Urology Case Reports, was written by Fiona Yosephine Napitupulu and Christiano Tansol of Universitas Padjadjaran in Bandung, Indonesia, who titled it "Love hurts."
