The Baltimore Ravens had a phenomenal 11-player draft class that has already made an impact during the 2022 season through three weeks. They’ve seen offensive, defensive and special teams players come through when they’re needed, which has been a very encouraging sign.
When listing out rookies from the 2022 class that have earned more playing time during the season, Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report named Baltimore safety Kyle Hamilton as one of his choices. When explaining his reasoning, Ballentine talked about the rookie’s recent good play, including a punch-out on New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor.
“Hamilton has started to show why he was so highly ranked coming out of Notre Dame. He’s PFF’s seventh-highest-graded safety in the league which includes a coverage grade over 90 against the Patriots in Week 3…He also forced his first turnover, punching the ball out of Nelson Agholor’s hands…Hamilton has showcased the range and play-making ability that made him a first-round pick. Now it’s time for the Ravens to reward that with more runs.”
Hamilton has had his fair share of growing pains, but his big play in Week 3 seems to have given him plenty of confidence moving forward. He’ll be an important part of the Ravens’ defensive success in 2022, especially if he can put things together quickly.
