There was a fire at KFC in Keynsham yesterday (Wednesday, April 27) which meant the local fast food branch had to close up shop for the rest of the day.
The eatery was left with a pool of water surrounding it and a hand-written sign in the door to say: "We are closed". Fire crews believe that the fire was accidental.
In a statement from Avon Fire and Rescue Service, a spokesperson said: "At 16:39 yesterday afternoon, crews from Kingswood and Temple fire stations were mobilised to reports of a fire. On arrival, firefighters found a small fire in the kitchen of a building used as a fast-food eatery on Ashmead Road in Keynsham.

"Wearing two breathing apparatus, firefighters used one hose reel, one covering jet and foam to extinguish the fire. A positive pressure ventilation fan was in use to clear the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
"There were thankfully no casualties reported. The cause is thought to have been accidental."
