Blackpool line up winger transfer amid Nottingham Forest interest

Nottingham Forest are said to be keen on landing Blackpool winger Josh Bowler this month.

According to reports, the Reds have recently seen a second bid for the 22-year-old knocked back but are preparing to make a third bid.

Bowler has attracted heavy interest after becoming a standout performer at Bloomfield Road this season during his 28 appearances in all competitions.

But boss Neil Critchley does not want to lose his star man and it is claimed that the Seasiders are holding out for a seven-figure fee.

According to The Blackpool Gazette, if they lose their winger, Blackpool will approach Charlton Athletic winger Charlie Kirk as a potential replacement.

Kirk is believed to be unsettled at Charlton despite signing a four-year deal back in August following his £500,000 move from Crewe Alexandra.

Critchley is familiar with the Addicks man from his Crewe connections.

Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson is also apparently looking to bring a couple of signings through the door, which could allow Kirk to move on.

Speaking on Forest's interest for Bowler last week, Critchley told The Gazette: "I spoke to Josh and we had a good chat.

"We explained what our thoughts and feelings were and Josh is happy here and is playing really good football.

"He’s of the opinion that what will be, will be. But he’s more than happy here and he’s playing fantastic football, so if he continues in that vein his future might get taken out of our hands and his hands."

Bowler joined Blackpool on a free transfer from Everton last summer and penned a one-year deal, with the club having an option to extend that by a further 12 months.
