'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' box office collection Day 4: Ryan Coogler directorial sees a big 65% drop in collections

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' saw a big drop in collections on its first Monday. The Marvel superhero film reportedly had a 65% drop in numbers after recording a good weekend at the box office.

The movie earned an estimated Rs 4.25 crore nett on Day 4, thus taking its total collection to an estimated Rs 43.50 crore nett, states a report on boxofficeindia.com.

Based on its performance at the box office on Monday, the Ryan Coogler directorial is expected to earn around Rs 55-56 crore nett.

The superhero movie kicked off its box office run with a collection of Rs 11.75 crore on Friday and earned Rs 13.75 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The film earned well across the Hindi belts, although the Hindi dubbed version of the film performed average at the box office. While the movie did score a good weekend collection, it is far behind the collections earned by other Marvel superhero films that made a big splash during the first three days and saw a gradual decline in collections in the week that followed.

'Wakanda Forever' is the sequel to the billion-dollar Oscar-nominated 'Black Panther' which saw the late Chadwick Boseman take on the role of the King of Wakanda. With the lead actor's sudden passing, the crown and Black Panther title will now pass on to Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, the sister of the slain King.
