At long last, Black Myth: Wukong has a release window – the summer of 2024. Still a lengthy wait, but at least we have a general idea of when it’ll launch.
On Tuesday, developer Game Science released a bizarre trailer revealing the release window. It’s a short stop-motion story about a white rabbit who wants to play Black Myth: Wukong. Fair enough – that’s basically all of us since its initial reveal.
Check out the trailer for yourself below. There’s a snippet of new gameplay footage in there as well, where you can see the protagonist facing off against some sort of massive humanoid tiger beast.
Initially shown off back in 2020, Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG from the studio Game Science. It’s very much in the same vein as something like Dark Souls and Elden Ring gameplay-wise, but with a story that’s based on Journey to the West, a legendary Chinese novel from the 16th century.
Despite Game Science being a relatively unknown studio, most of the in-game trailers have been pretty spectacular – the graphics, in particular, caught a lot of people’s attention early on.
We’ll see how it all comes together when Black Myth: Wukong releases next year for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
