Black Friday is just ONE week away, and it’s the perfect time to pick up your Christmas party outfit, buy Aunt Bess that scarf she wants, or treat yourself to a new winter wardrobe. Brands like PrettyLittleThing, Boohoo and ASOS are set to have huge sales, with PLT having offered 99 per cent off last year.
However, sometimes things arrive and they don’t fit quite how you want them to, someone reveals they’ve bought the mum the same pair of gloves you’ve got her, or you realised you probably need the cash more than the new skirt you ordered. It’s okay, it happens, we’ve all been there.
Whilst the fashion industry has got ‘next day delivery’ down to a T, sending the items back isn’t always as easy, so it’s important to know how to return an item for each individual store, especially when a number of them - including Boohoo - have started charging for returns.

Here’s you need to know before ordering from your favourite online fashion retailers this Black Friday:
PrettyLittleThing
This year, Black Friday falls on November 25, though PrettlyLittleThing has renamed their infamous sale Pink Friday , always promising to take things one step further.
The fashion retailer already has a Pink Friday Landing page so that shoppers can keep a close eye on when the iconic sales launch.
Last year they offered an unbeatable up to 99 per cent off sale and this year, you can expect even more killer savings on all this season’s hottest trends. Shoppers are being encouraged to get ahead of the crowd and sign up to be notified about all the deals as soon as they go live.
Already they have a ‘warm up’ sale offering up to 70 per cent off everything, which you can find here.
The Manchester-based fashion retailer ships clothing to UK, Ireland, Australia, US, France, Middle East and North Africa, with the majority of customers able to choose next day delivery if ordering items before 10pm.
Alongside being pretty speedy with their delivery process, their returns process is also just as good. Their returns labels have already-tracked returns labels which can be peeled off and stuck straight onto the back of the bag.
All you have to do is fill the form in with a reason code for return and you can drop the parcel at any post office. You get as long as 45 days from receiving your order to do this and the money will land back in your account in no longer than five working days.
ASOS
ASOS has already dubbed Black Friday 2022 as its biggest sale of the year, with the retail giant already giving away 50 per cent off on weekends, Black Friday weekend at ASOS is promising.
Today, the brand is offering up to 60 per cent off in a warm up sale , with 25 per cent off all ASOS brands for 24 hours with the code FAVES25.
Whilst the shop only used to give customers the chance to request a refund within 28 days of delivery or collection, now ASOS says it will accept returns for up to 45 days after a customer receives a purchase.
However, there is a small catch. Under the new rules if you return an item within 28 days, you'll get a full refund paid to your original payment method, as you did previously. If the item is returned after 28 days, you will only receive a gift voucher amounting to the value.
The refund is normally issued using the original payment method and aims to be debited within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
Recently ASOS was believed to start suspending accounts if it suspects customers are wearing clothes before returning them or returning too many items.
Their returns policy now reads: “If we notice an unusual pattern of returns activity that doesn't sit right, then we might have to deactivate the account and any associated accounts. This includes but isn't limited to:

When we suspect someone isn't just trying their items on, but wearing them for longer periods, then returning them.

When someone orders and returns loads - way, waaay more than even the most loyal ASOS customer would order.

When the items returned don't match what you ordered. If this happens to you and you think we've made a mistake, please get in touch with Customer Care and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.
“If your account has been deactivated and you need to make a valid return, contact Customer Care. They'll give you a returns label although you'll be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.”
You can return your unwanted purchases from ASOS at a local Post Office or InPost lockers, with some post office branches even having self-service machines for parcel returns.
Boohoo
The Boohoo Black Friday warm up sale sees up to 50 per cent slashed off full priced items, excluding beauty - so we have high hopes for big savings on the day.
Orders placed between November 17 and December 18 can be returned until January 15, 2023, while orders placed on or after December 18 will have the usual 28 days to return. Naturally, they must be unworn, unwashed and unused with original labels still attached.
Boohoo recently started charging for returns, and have reminded customers that £1.99 per parcel will be deducted from their refund amount - that is unless you pay for a premier account, where returns are still free.
To return, simply:

Repack your items. If you don’t have the original packaging, you can put your items into something non-see-through, sealable and waterproof.

Input your order number, email and last four digits of your phone number into the returns portal.

Select the option of a preferred return. You can either drop it off at a local Post Office and the branch will scan the QR code straight from your phone and print and label the item for you. You can also do it through Evri (previously known as Hermes,)taking it to your nearest ParcelShop.
It is important to note that Boohoo doesn’t offer exchanges, you have to return your items and reorder for a replacement. A typical refund will take up to 14 days plus your bank’s handling time.
Missguided
Missguided are preparing for Black Friday by giving shoppers a £20 voucher when they spend over £100 online . And to help shoppers make sure they can get a refund if something isn’t quite right, they’ve extended their returns policy for the festive period.
The retailer will offer an exchange or credit note for items purchased after Monday, October 31 returned unworn and in perfect saleable condition within its original packaging until Sunday, January 8, 2023. You can send your items back for a full refund, but it will have to be within 28 days of purchase.
Missguided provides paperless free returns, however the company will not send a return slip within your parcel. The good news is you can easily download it online.
