The Black Eyed Peas have apologised to Irish fans after they were booed on stage at their latest gig.
The crowd at their Galway gig in Pearse Stadium was less than impressed when the group mistakingly called Ireland part of the UK and even started jeering them.
It seemed like everything was going smoothly until the Black Eyed Peas mistook Ireland for the UK when addressing the giant crowd, according to Galway Beo.
Some fans even took to social media to voice their frustrations at the blunder.
"Ireland isn’t in the UK and that’s why we booed you at the concert but love you so much hunni xxxx," one user said.
Another disappointed fan added: "Out at the Black Eyed Peas gig out in Salthill and @iamwill keeps saying UK and the crowd are booing! But look, it's an easy mistake for any Canadian."
"Just a quick PSA..IRELAND IS NOT IN THE UK," one fan pointed out to the band.
Another simply posted: "It’s quite surprising how many musicians/celebrities make the mistake."
Following a slew of disappointed posts, Will.i.am took to his Twitter to personally apologise to each person.
He wrote: "I’m so sorry for that mistake…Please forgive my ignorance & accept my apology… #LOVE …"
The star also later replied to another person's criticism of his comments by tweeting: "You’re 1000% correct…It’s not confusion…I spend lots of time in this part of the world to know the difference…
"Todays mess up was honest airhead embarrassing mistake…& I’m sorry…the republic of Ireland fought for their independence…and that’s inspiring… #LOVE "
