Black dad says Ruth’s Chris charged him for food staff threw away. What happened when he challenged the bill left his family banned

A Miami father says his family’s Father’s Day dinner at a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, ended with police being called over an appetizer the restaurant had thrown away. The dispute has since spread online, with the father questioning whether his family was treated differently because they are Black.

Junior, who posts on Instagram as @junya90sjunya, shared footage of the encounter after visiting the upscale steakhouse with his four children, aged between one and 11. According to Atlanta Black Star, the dinner took an unexpected turn when the family discovered a charge on their bill for food they never got to eat. The family had already sent back one appetizer because it was not prepared as ordered. They then ordered another dish to share. When it was time to pack up their leftovers, however, they noticed a server throwing away the second appetizer.
