BJP puts up last min show of strength with roadshow

MOHALI: On the last day of campaigning for assembly elections, BJP candidate from Mohali Sanjeev Vashisht held a massive roadshow from Phase 11, Mohali to Balongi, covering phases 10, 9, 8,7 and 5. Many senior BJP leaders, including Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta, Haryana sports minister Sandeep Singh and actor Mahie Gill joined Vashisht in the roadshow. The rally organised by the saffron party included tractors, motorcycles, cars and autos. Local residents welcomed the BJP candidate and party workers with garlands and flower showers.

Addressing the gathering, Vashisht, said that people of Punjab had made up their minds to vote for BJP for its "double engine government". He said people had tried parties like Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Akali Dal and now had faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Vashisht said that "real development" of Mohali was possible only with the cooperation of the Union gobernment led by the saffron party. He said that special packages from the Centre were needed to get

IT companies and industries to Mohali, which would be possible only with a BJP government in Punjab.

He accused Congress MLA from Mohali, Balbir Sidhu of spending five years earning money and providing plush posts to his kin. He further accused Sidhu of occupying village panchayat and urban lands and said that his defeat was certain. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Kulwant Singh, who is the richest candidate in Punjab, has already been rejected by people and he would not get support again, he claimed.
