NEW DELHI: Going against the people’s mandate and departing from its own precedent, the BJP leadership on Monday appointed Pushkar Singh Dhami, who lost his assembly seat, as the new Uttarakhand chief minister.
The party leadership had appointed defence minister Rajnath Singh as the central observer and minister of state for external affairs Meenakashi Lekhi as the co-observer to oversee the selection of leader of BJP’s Uttarakhand legislature party on Monday.
