BJP candidate Jaan Mohammad wins Zila Parishad chairman's post in Haryana's Nuh

GURUGRAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate Jaan Mohammad was elected Zila Parishad chairman in Haryana’s Nuh on Monday.

Of the 25 zila parishad members, 19 attended the meeting, while six remained absent.

BJP candidate Jaan Mohammad bagged 18 votes while his opponent Yahuda Khan got just one vote.

On Monday, around 12 noon in the presence of BJP leader and administrator of Waqf board Zakir Hussain 19 zila parishad members reached mini secretariat for the election of zil parishad chairman. After filing nominations and documentation, voting started at around 2 pm.

BJP leader Nauksham Choudhary said it is a huge win for BJP as the party candidate won with huge majority. Surprisingly relative of Congress MLA from Ferozpur Jhirka Mamman Khan’s relative Hasrat Jahan also voted for BJP candidate.

Additional deputy commissioner Renu Sogan handed over certificate to newly elected zila parishad chairman Jaan Mohammad.
