Dubai, UAE — BIX has announced the official launch of its new crypto payment card, designed to modernize digital asset spending by integrating advanced financial architecture into everyday Visa transactions. The card enables users to utilize their digital assets as collateral while purchasing goods and services, settling merchant transactions directly in fiat currency.
Ask most people what a crypto company does and they will describe an exchange. Buy, sell, hold, repeat. That description is becoming outdated, and the reason sits in a growing number of wallets in the form of a payment card.
In BIX's case, self-custody describes the wallet, while card collateral and settlement remain subject to the applicable programme arrangements. There is also a positioning question the sector has not fully answered. These are finance apps, not banks, and the services that look most bank-like are usually delivered through third-party institutions under their own arrangements. Communicating that clearly, without either overclaiming or burying it, is part of earning mainstream trust.
