On Friday, March 1, the Bitcoin Students Network (BSN) was officially launched at the Bitcoin Atlantis conference in Madeira, Portugal. The BSN, initiated by Generation Bitcoin, aims to expand and coordinate efforts to involve more students in the world of Bitcoin.
The Cornell Bitcoin Club became the first to join the BSN, signaling the network's intention to extend its reach beyond the United States. The BSN's primary objective is to facilitate the establishment and growth of Bitcoin-focused student clubs at universities worldwide by providing logistical, financial, and general support.
With a vision to serve as a central hub for students interested in Bitcoin, the BSN seeks to connect them with resources and opportunities within the industry. The organization's core values include promoting freedom through knowledge, encouraging first-principles thinking, and fostering a long-term perspective.
Since its launch, the BSN has established nodes in 12 countries across 6 continents, with plans for further expansion and collaboration among participants. The network also encourages industry players to engage with students by offering mentorship, job opportunities, and support for student-led initiatives.
One of the key partnerships formed by the BSN is with the Bitcoin Conference, which will sponsor hundreds of students to attend the event in Nashville from June 25 to 27, 2024. This collaboration aims to empower students with knowledge and networking opportunities in the Bitcoin space.
By removing barriers to student involvement and promoting community building, the BSN seeks to strengthen the social fabric of the Bitcoin ecosystem. The organization's ultimate goal is to ensure that students worldwide have equal access to resources and opportunities to contribute to the growing field of Bitcoin.
