‘Biryani burritos’ and crumbles with BOTTOMLESS CUSTARD heading to shipping container food court under Mancunian Way

A wealth of Pakistani street food, including biryani burritos, is heading to Hatch, the award-winning food court underneath the Mancunian Way. Pukht is the latest food operator to open, with pukht meaning ‘cooked’ in Urdu.

As well as biryani burritos, the menu will also feature chaat loaded nachos and smokey butter chicken burgers. Lockdown-born business Pukht has already proved a hit with a series of pop-ups across Cheshire.

Founder Aisha Tilstone said: “It's been a tough few years for many food operators but the passion to produce good, honest food remains in our hearts. Pakistani food is so underrated and many people don't know the incredible flavours we can produce.

“Hatch is the perfect space for us to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of Manchester's biggest and best street food vendors. There is a fantastic mix of cuisines at the destination and we’re excited to complete the Hatch family with our vibrant and fresh street food.”

Also coming to Hatch from March 17 is new dessert brand Crumbled, previously seen as a pop-up at Mala in the Northern Quarter. Specialising in crumbled desserts, as the name would suggest, the more recognisable apple, cinnamon and rhubarb, are served alongside peach and prosecco, winter berry, and apple and blueberry flavours.

They’re baked daily, and for an extra quid, you get bottomless custard. Chloe Peers from Crumbled said: “We can’t wait to bring Crumbled to Hatch - we love that independent businesses are championed here and feel like it’s the perfect place for the business to grow.

“Our crumbles appeal to lovers of old school desserts, as well as people who love to be adventurous with their puds. Everyone get yourselves down to Hatch for all of our crumbly goodness.”
