Birmingham City striker Marvin Ducksch has been charged with drink driving following a three-vehicle crash.
Warwickshire Police said officers were called to a collision on the A3400 near Henley-in-Arden at around 10.30pm on Easter Monday.
German forward Ducksch, 32, of Solihull, has been charged with drink driving and is due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on May 20.
Earlier on the day of the alleged incident, Ducksch had played in Birmingham’s 2-1 defeat by promotion-chasing Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The EFL Championship club said in a statement: “The club can confirm that Marvin Ducksch has been charged in relation to an offence of driving with excess alcohol.

“Marvin wishes to apologise to his teammates, staff and supporters of the club and accepts full responsibility for his actions.
“The matter has been dealt with internally and no further comment will be made at this time.”
Ducksch has spent almost his entire career in his homeland of Germany, having played for several clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Paderborn, St Pauli, Holstein Kiel, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Werder Bremen.
Ducksch, who played twice for the German national team in November 2023, opted to play outside of Germany for the first time when he joined Birmingham from Werder Bremen last summer.
Since arriving at St Andrew’s, he has made 35 appearances across all competitions and scored 11 goals.
His goals have helped Birmingham into 15th place in the Championship, with the Midlands club set to spend another season in the second tier of English football, following their promotion from League One last year.
Birmingham have not played in the Premier League since the 2010-11 season, when they were relegated from the top flight for the third time in six seasons.
However, they have ambitions of returning to the Premier League, and announced plans for a new stadium to put the club on the “trajectory towards greatness” back in November.
