People have been warned against feeding the red kites that live in the Chilterns after the conservation board received several reports of the birds of prey dropping raw meat onto the heads of unsuspecting nature lovers.
Red kites were reintroduced to their former heartlands in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire, over 30 years ago and have been thriving ever since, but The Chilterns Conservation Board have had to issue a plea to stop people from leaving raw meat in their gardens for the birds to eat.
In a post on the Chilterns' website, the board said that while it can be tempting to feed the red kites so you can see them up close, doing so does more harm than good - especially to other people in the area.
