A Bingham street party for local residents has been rescheduled for later this year following Sunday's poor weather. The party was organised by Bingham Community Events more than a month ago, where there was set to be live entertainment.
The event was planned to take place on Sunday, June 5, from 12pm until 6pm in the market square, but organisers decided to postpone the event following the announcement of rain. A Land Rover that turns into a DJ booth had been booked for the event, and family games such as bingo and a quiz had also been organised.
Event manager, Elizabeth Hutchison, said: "Bingham Community Events have rescheduled our street party for September 18th. We are having a marquee for the weekend for our Beer Festival on the 16th and 17th, so are excited to have three days of activity to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee."

Although the street party has been postponed, Bingham residents were able to enjoy other events across the Jubilee weekend. This included Mayor Gareth Williams and Judith Swan, Deputy Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire, lighting the beacon on Thursday, June 2, and the flypast on Saturday, June 4. Despite a somewhat dreary day in certain parts, other events took place on Sunday, the day which marked the fourth and final day of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
